Will enter training camp as backup to Kent Graham...Led the Carolina Panthers to the NFC Championship Game in 1996 after guiding the team to the NFC West title with a 10-4 record as a starter....Earned his first Pro Bowl berth following that season...Led the Panthers to a 7-6 record after being named the starter in the fourth game of his rookie campaign in 1995. 

1998
Completed 76 of 162 passes for 1,011 yards, eight touchdowns and five interceptions in four starts for the Panthers....Was inactive in the fifth game of the year at Dallas (10-11) before being waived on October 13...Was claimed off waivers by the New Orleans Saints on October 14 and started the final seven games of ths season, finishing with 94 completions on 191 pass attempts for 1,202 yards, four touchdowns and ten interceptions...His season highlight for the Saints was an 89-yard touchdown pass to WR Andre Hastings vs. Dallas (9-6) that tied a team record...His season-high with carolina was at Atlanta (10-4) when he completed 20 of 38 pass attempts for 302 yards, including three touchdown passes. 

1997
Kerry worked to a 55.7 quarterback rating on 200 of 381 passing for 2,124 yards, 11 touchdowns and 21 interceptions in 13 starts. His 6-7 record as a starter was his first losing mark. Kerry struggled with his consistency, throwing only three interceptions in six wins but 18 in seven losses while working with a young offensive unit with much talent but little NFL experience. He suffered a major setback in a preseason contest versus Denver (8/9), when Broncos linebacker Bill Romanowski hit Kerry from his left during his follow through on a pass, breaking Kerry's jaw in two places. 

1996
Kerry had an outstanding season, helping the Panthers to a 10-4 record as a starter and an appearance in the NFC Championship. Playing as a second alternate, Kerry also made his first appearance in the Pro Bowl...He finished the season with 204 completions on 364 attempts for 2,454 yards and 14 touchdowns...Led the panthers to the NFC Championship Game. 

1995
Kerry completed 214 passes in 433 attempts for 2,717 yards and 14 touchdowns.

College Highlights
A first-team All-America selection by the Associated Press, The Football News and the NFL Draft Report, Kerry directed the Penn State Nittany Lions to an 11-0 record his senior year, capped by a 38-20 victory over Oregon in the 1995 Rose Bowl. His senior season (1994), he had one of the best campaigns in college football history, posting a 172.9 pass efficiency rating, ranked fifth all-time in NCAA history. He completed 176 of 264 passes (66.7) for 2,679 yards and 21 touchdowns and averaged 10.15 yards per attempt en route to the Davey O''Brien Award as the nation''s top college quarterback, the Maxwell Award as the nation''s outstanding player, and honors as a finalist for the Heisman Trophy...He directed the Nittany Lions to victories in his last 17 games as a starter.
